Adobe Issues

We are continuing to test and try to find the best setup to get Adobe to work on a consistent basis. As well as find the most efficient workarounds for when it still had problems from time to time.

There are 2 options that have made a positive impact for some users. Have FAST docs open in Adobe vs. in a browser window.

  1. This is helpful because you can open multiple FAST docs and keep them all open until you choose to close them
  2. If you get an error, you can “retry” and it generally recovers, reducing the number of times you have to close FAST or reboot
  3. To do this:
    1. Type “internet options” in your search bar and then click on the Internet Options

in Control Panel

      2. Then click on Ok to get out of the Internet Options window Now when you open a PDF from FAST, it will open in Adobe.

IF you get an error, it will likely look like this:

And you can click on Retry and it will likely work the 2nd time around.

Open a PDF, minimize it, then the rest seem to open without issue

  1. If you prefer your FAST PDF’s to open in a browser window, you can reduce the number of errors that you get by opening a simple pdf, and then minimizing it.
  2. Then the PDF’s that you open after that seem to open without issue.
  3. Continue to leave that original pdf open
